MV 75a1 and KT120 tubes.
MV 75a1 and KT120 tubes.
Hello new here so thanks for allowing me to join. Wanted to as a question for those who may know. I have been reading all that I can find about tubes that are suitable for running in my MV 75a1 amplifier. I read this thread here on site (https://www.conradjohnsonowners.com/vie ... T120#p9374) that seems to say that it is OK to run KT120's in the amplifier however I have read other places on the net that it might not be a good idea. It came of course with the 6550 tube and I read that the KT88 tube is OK too. Anyone with experience of running the KT120 without trouble? Thanks.

Re: MV 75a1 and KT120 tubes.
These amps were not intended to run with KT120s.
In addition to many reports of lower SQ, the KT120s will not be running at correct voltages without other changes.

It’s just stuff. I like mine. I hope you like yours. I probably like yours too.

Thank you much. I ordered KT88's so I would be safe.
