DNA-750s again.

Post by jeffreybehr »

Remember that pair of '750s I bought in 2012, substantially modified, and used to drive a pair of Vandersteen 5As?

See http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=104073.0

It's highly probable they'll soon be back, to drive a pair of Revel Salon2s next year. (My retirement cash goes only so far. ) The local purchaser/friend and I are just about finished negotiating my repurchase of them. Turns out he intended to have them further modified, but the fellow didn't finish the project. Now one is in pieces (so to speak) but repairable. I plan to remove all the DNA caps I had installed and install the same number and value of DNA caps as original, that being 8 per amp and 470uF, this time using current (actually, 'NOS' since the caps are no longer produced) BlackGate 470uF/160s.

More later. New thread here http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?to ... 88.new#new

These pics are from 2012; the only thing still in my system are the Neotec interconnects and the Neotec/Furutech powercables.

Well...NOT going to happen. After two offers rejected and my further thinking about the cost--around $2K--of rebuilding the two amps, I withdrew my offer. Today retrieved a Butler TDB 5150 5-channel amp...

...and will try that for a while. If that sounds great, I'll buy the 250Wpc stereo version next year for the Salon2s.
