Hello Like Minded Audiophiles,
I'm a native Californian, having moved to NorCal with the DotBomb from SoCal. I started playing musical instruments at the age of six and continue to this day. I was introduced to breathtaking HiFi at one of my fathers friend when I seven and I instantly heard a very distinctive difference in quality reproduction. A few years ago I found time to be part of the largest rock-n-roll flash-mob. So. Much. Fun. For those interested in coming attractions: https://cityrocks.eu
I've had my CJ system for 25 years and the amp actually went to be serviced in Virginia today, having experienced Red Plating while listening to lossless digital tracks. What a light show it was.
My System
CJ LP66S Amp
CJ ET2 Pre-Amp
Ayre QB-9 DAC
Sonus Faber Auditor Cremora with stands
Synergistic AU-79
Synergistic Mag Tricom
Synergistic QLS,
Synergistic Tesla x4 8' S>S
I look forward to being a member and contributing. Cheers.

Welcome to CJO, great to have you with us!
Looks like an amazing system with some top notch CJ gear. I'm a big fan of Sonus Faber as they make some truly excellent speakers.
Again, welcome.

G'day mate! Greetings from Down Unda.
Nice gear there, especially with the SF speakers, that will be a fine level of pure musicality.
Cheers, and enjoy those finest tunes!

Yes mate indeed. Exposed to CJ since a teenager then started the real tube highend journey in the US during my undergrad years. After graduation of May 98, the rest is history.
I remember very vividly one of those first experiences: a beautiful Premier 11A partnered with a pv8 driving a pair of SF Cremona mini-monitors. Source was a pretty good Musical Fidelity CD player, and the level of musicality surpassed so many other lofty systems, it was awe-inspiring! I think that day, which turned into night and into the wee hours of the morning, we couldn't get enough of it. Simply put, musicality with finesse!
Most systems these days are a bit disjointed because many go for lofty gear, without careful component matching. Either they overdo the amplification or under-do the speakers or vice versa... getting that match right is what leads to synergy. Sometimes they don't even know what they're after, hence go round in circles, chasing the ultimate with a whole lot of spend.
My motto has always been, first know what it is you're looking for. Then choose the gear after extensive auditions and derive a short list, from which make final decisions based on which ones give you the highest level of involvement. Then put it all together and make sure you're enjoying a truly immersive experience. Don't overdo things, keep the points of connections to a minimum, try best to keep things simple.
That's about it really! I can certainly relate to your system, keep those tubes glowing and enjoy those finest tooons.
Cheers, RJ

I agree with your points and would go further... unless someone is exposed to "X", they may never know what "X" is and will rarely see the value. In music this could have changed... April 2017 Ayre provided the technology for a portable lossless mini-DAC, (Pono Music), that delivers the goods on headphones or patched into a broader system. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pono_(dig ... c_service) An educated public is a good thing. All the points mentioned are basically the same within a watch collector community, formula racing any other activity or affiliation. Cheers
