Hi,
I'm Kevin. I live in N. California, USA. I've been into music for many, many many years. I've been exploring the "tube sound" recently. I come from a mostly SS background, although I did have an MV75 a long time ago. I sold it a long time ago also.
Here's my current system:
1. Phono - Technics SL-1200G, Hana ML, outboard Micro Seiki MA-505L and and Benz LP-S.
2. Phono and Preamps - ARC SP-6B (fully refurbed at AR last month), internal phono pre used for the ML. Paragon System E preamp using tape out to make it a phono pre for the LP-S. And I use two home made SUTs with Cinemag transformers, one each for the cartridges.
3. Line Level - ARC SP-6B. Digital input from Oppo BDP-105, Bryston BDP-3, and Bryston BDA-3 (D/A).
4. EQ - dBx 1231
5 - Power Amp- ML #27
6. Speakers - Revel f208.
I am in the market for a warm sounding power amp. That MV75 I had was warm. But I grew tired of obsessing with the tube bias. I never felt that it was right. I'm aware now that I was overly obsessing. I need to set it and forget it (for a month or so).
I have a refurbed SP-6B. It's only been a month, but I'm really liking it so far. I did a bit of tube rolling, even got some NOS from Brent Jessee, but I eventually went back to all stock AR tubes, which are Electro Harmonix 12AX7 EH.
Will this guy work well with a CJ amp? Budget is less than $5K for used and less than $10K for new.
Thanks and I'm happy to be here!
Please note: I posted some of this info previously on another topic on this forum. My apologies if this looks like a repeat. I thought I would get more responses from this topic thread.

Welcome to CJO Kev.
Great to hear from fellow audiophiles and music enthusiasts with different gear. Although the gear is what makes the system sound tops, at the end of the day, regardless of system gear, enjoying the music is the essence!
Cheers, and enjoy those fine tunes!
