CA150 Sub Out Question
I am wondering if the Conrad Johnson CA150 can help me achieve what I am trying to do. I have the MF2550 as well as a set of CJ/Sythesis SRS speakers and passive sub towers. What I am thinking is I can use the CA150 for the preamp and to power the main speakers and then connect to the MF2550 to power the passive sub towers. I'm just trying to understand if that will work based on anyone's experience. Thank you!
Re: CA150 Sub Out Question
You may be able to use the "sub out" RCA connector from the CA150 to go to the MF2550 and then have the subs connected to the MF2550 and the main speakers to the CA150 speaker out. I think that would work. I would just check on the volume leveling as you may need to compensate for some amplitude differences. But that should be rather easy as I'm sure you sub have a volume dial.
Let us know how that turns out, it would be an interesting configuration.

Re: CA150 Sub Out Question
Well it worked! I finally got a chance to set up and the sub out works like a charm. I’m using the synthesis crossover in the middle so I can control the bass level.

Re: CA150 Sub Out Question
By the way I am so glad I hung on to the SRS system. It’s one of the best speakers I have ever heard. I had Bill Thalmann upgrade the crossover a few years ago with Teflon caps. Not too shabby for a spare system!

That looks amazing. Congrats on the setup.

Re: CA150 Sub Out Question
It is very nice, and quite unique. There were never many of these in service. It is nice that you’ve been able to extend the service life. Congratulations!
It’s just stuff. I like mine. I hope you like yours. I probably like yours too.
