I guess it is like owning a vintage car they are great but need repair. Vintage CJ gear has a special sound from days when
analog was strong. The old CJ stuff is warm and musical not as clinical and detailed as newer gear. I would fix your MV50. Maybe for 500.00 you could get your MV 50 back in working order. I am kind of in the same boat having a pv-6 that needs repair. When it worked it sounded special a nice
vintage vibe.

I would suspect an Output transformer with possibly shorted turns.
Not something I would want to hear.
The only way to confirm is to swap the OP transformers left for right, Not insurmountable but maybe a repair shop?
Probably consider selling as Spares Repairs.. and buy something else

Output transformers are easy to diagnose in reverse mode. Disconnect from power and remove the output tubes, Connect a 4 or 6 Vac transformer secondary to the speaker terminals - this will inject an AC signal in the secondary. Then using a multimeter in AC check the voltage at the outputs of the transformer connecting the probes to the anode pins in the tubes. You should get approximately the same reading in both transformers.
Currently listening mostly to dCS Vivaldi, cj GAT2 preamplifier, cj ART amplifiers and SoundLab A1Px's.
