Pv10a secondary voltages

Post by MrMersh »

Hello all!

This is my first piece of CJ gear and it came in as a partial trade for some work I did but it had a blown transitor. I replaced the transistor and it worked for a little while but the replacement failed.

It's the NPN transistor, Q2 of the PV10A, and it's showing excessive voltage in the realm of 380 volts DC.

So what I'm reaching out for is if somebody knows what the actual secondary voltages of the transformer are.

I'm also wondering if somebody has or can measure on theirs the B+ voltage at the 220 UF bulk capacitors. Essentially the rectified voltage and the partially smooth rectified voltage.

Thanks in advance and thank you for having me,
Mersh

Hi Mersh,
Welcome to CJO. Great to have you with us.

Unfortunately, I don't know those voltages. We do have the PV10 with PV10a parts list in our schematic database. That may be of some help.

Thank you for having me. I'm really excited to get this PV 10 on its feet. You got damaged and shipping to me and I took it in to repair it for someone, but after the damage I bartered it for a little bit of bench time. I'm excited to hear what it sounds like with my MC2100.

I do have the schematic and the parts list.

Hola,

Usually the plate voltages for all tubes comes from point " A " at the schematic. This voltage is circa DC300V, Some working voltages are high. You don't want to get a shock, so be careful. 320 DC is more typical. Refer to the diagram schematic.

Happy listening!
