Thanks Admin, I could try that one you linked and if it doesn't fit then
just return it. The Nordest speaker cables are the flat wire ones with many small wires that
connect to the banana plug. I used the Nordest with my once owned Premier 11 amp which was the best amp I have heard.

Re: mv-45 with banana speakers connectors
Thanks Admin. The problem is I don't know the exact size of the screw nut and the clearance between
the screw connectors. There are millions of them on Amazon but they spades look huge. The ideal is
Banana -> connector -> wires to attach to screws. I am not skilled enough to do full-mod. Just ...

mv-45 with banana speakers connectors
I have a mv-45 which sounds great. I have some really nice Nordest speaker wires but
they have banana connectors and the '45 has screw connectors. The question is how to connect the Nordest
to the' 45. Is there way to accomplish the above connection? The clearance is not great between the screws so ...

Re: tube recommendation for cj-pv6 pre-amp
Thanks for the response. The line input seems clean(Aux and Tuner). the phono is getting the hum both channels. I just ordered a new set of pre-amp tubes, nothing fancy but just to check if it is a bad tube is causing the problem. The overall sound of the pre-amp sounds quite nice. The last test ...

Re: MV50 endless service need
I guess it is like owning a vintage car they are great but need repair. Vintage CJ gear has a special sound from days when
analog was strong. The old CJ stuff is warm and musical not as clinical and detailed as newer gear. I would fix your MV50. Maybe for 500.00 you could get your MV 50 back in ...

Re: tube recommendation for cj-pv6 pre-amp
This is what the previous owner did with the pv-6
rebuilt the high voltage power supply with new caps, diodes and regulator transistors
- replaced the original power cord with heavier, 3- conductor
- replaced the original no-repairable turn-on delay and circuit with custom made pcb carrying a 555 ...

Re: tube recommendation for cj-pv6 pre-amp
Thanks, I will try swapping tubes first. I am about 4 hours from them from Raleigh,NC. The problem is the traffic getting towards DC on 95!
I wish I knew someone closer to me that can take a look at the unit. When it was working it sounded great - no problems.

I have been a CJ owner since the mid 90's.
My current CJ gear: MV-45, PV-12 with phono, and PV-6.
I love how CJ gear sounds, it does sound 'just right".
Interesting that used CJ tube amps and pre-amps are going for almost what they cost new
and not that many being sold on the used market . It must ...

Re: mpw vintage CJ system
I know mine sounds great with Linn Lp-12. no complaints here! I bought the 12 used looking for one with phono stage.
I have owned the 12 now for about 20yrs. with no problems! Actually I started my CJ journey with a high powered SS amp and a PFT-12 ss pre-amp.
Once I found the glory of tubes I got ...

Yes, I agree. I am not sure of the size of the MV-45 screw to get the correct spade ??

Re: Cj pv5 vs pv8 vs pv12
I have the PV-12 with the phono stage used with the Linn Lp-12, Spendor LS3/5 speakers and the old MV-45 amp. I think
it sounds great. I might need a better cartridge for the Lp-12 to reach the PV-12's potential. I have had the PV-12 for about 20 yrs. with
no problems (so far !!).

I have an old but good MV-45 amp along with the PV-12 pre-amp with built in phono stage.
My speakers are Spendor LS3/5 along with the Linn Turntable.
For an older system it sounds great. I had the premier 11 amp which I sold as it blew fuses which were
almost impossible to find. I love the CJ sound ...

I have an old but good CJ MV-45 amp. I also have some Nordest speaker wire that has banana plugs.
The question is: what is the way that I can convert the banana plugs to bare wire to connect to the amp without
taking off the banana plugs as these Nordest have many fine wires connected to the plug ...
