Re: Premier 12 MB’s output setting

Thanks.
Decided to revert it back to 4ohm.
Problem I have found is it likely needs a plasma cutter to desolder the speaker terminal
None of my Soldering irons were man enough for the job.
So going to replace binding posts due to Solder on them and looking a bit messy, - have some nice ...

Re: Premier 12 MB’s output setting

Ok Just traced back Feedback resistor and its 2.55kOhm which is for 4 Ohm setting. so I either replace resistor for a 3.92k vishay or change the Output Tx wiring link from white/orange to white/yellow. I seem to remember 4ohm is factory and also recommended setting.
Speakers now Kef R7 impedance ...

Most of the early Vinyl £10-£30 Highest paid was £45 for the Drum Record on Vinyl.
The later Vinyl TLP26 onwards are £75-£250
So most of my later ones are bought on CD for £10-£20
Just bought the last one needed CD28 so will stop there.

Re: Speaker Cables (again)

Had to cut the sleeved cable to 3m & 1m
found out it isn't anything exotic. Sommer Meridian 260 cost about 12 Euro per metre. interesting that i blind tested them and kimbers were better.
So will stay with the Kimbers

I am of the Doen't really make a differ5nec scholl but feel the cost of Conrad Johnson gear is more deserving of a cable price proprtionate.

So two inexpensive recent purchases
A 4 m pair of sleeved cable for £99 I ...

Check the Tape output to see if imbalance is there, to isolate probability of the ALPS Volume control bad tracking through age? and isolate problem to input stage or output stage

Re: MV-55 problems - who services in the UK?

Hi
I am not far in Northampton. While not qualified, I have restored and repaired Valve amplifiers for 40 years.
If you don't get a better offer let me know.
Also have you checked the fuse and led isn't lit red.

Premiere 12 MB power on indicator light

Although you should be able to tell if the Premiere 12 Monoblocks are on, by the soft glow of the tubes, I find it difficult to tell from the sofa.
Has anyone done a power-on indicator light/led modification.
It is likely to be tricky as I wouldn’t want to drill the front panel. I did consider ...

Since the original post I have gone a bit mental, in looking for, and buying the other early releases,
Price seems good value at around UK £20.
