Re: ET3SE And Headphones.
If you only use headphones seldom and don't want to invest too much money, I do recommend looking at Schiit. Made in the USA, relatively inexpensive.

Re: ET3SE And Headphones.
You can try to connect headphones to the output. The issue is there may be an impedance mismatch. The sound quality may not be the best. You will also need a plug converter. If you are really a headphones listener, the CJ HVA-1 would absolutely give you the top performance. As for the tubes. It ...

Re: MV-125 restoration & repair help
First, welcome to CJO, great to have you with us. Congrats on getting the MV-125, very nice little unit. Unfortunately, gear this age is prone to some failures. We don't have the MV-125 schematics in our database unfortunately so that will not be of help. As for trouble shooting. If you actually ...

Re: Conrad Johnson MF-2250 horribly distorted
I thought there are a total of 5 fuses in the MF2000 series. Are you sure you didn't miss any?

Re: LP12 and Clearaudio Master Reference
So many choices. Do you find that certain TT/phono cartridge combinations are better for certain types of music or is it just generally "all equally good but different?"

Re: Conrad Johnson MF-2250 horribly distorted
I would use the continuity tester on a multi-meter to make sure those solders are solid and not touching other circuits. But otherwise it doesn't look too bad to me.

Re: Conrad Johnson MF-2250 horribly distorted
Unfortunately we do not have the MF-2250 schematics in our database. I think horrible distortion would be unlikely from a biasing issue, especially in a SS unit. I would do a good visual inspection of the inside to look for obvious signs of faults such as burn marks, bulging caps, bad solder joints ...

Re: Premier 12 MB’s output setting
Thanks. Have schematic. Fuses inside all original. The Busmann fuses were from china but look the same, so I have a suspicion. In that it should have blown. Will open one up to have a looksee Fuses due today. And will use the Variac to power it up gradually Definitely get 100% legitimate fuses ...

Re: Premier 12 MB’s output setting
Sounds like you got lucky but I agree with AJ, check on the fuses and do a good visual check.
We do have the Premier 12 in our schematics database so you may be able to trace out the location of the feedback resistor with that.

Re: Bias LED. When is it too much? CJ MV125
Short version: You're over thinking it. It's fine. Longer version: The SF speakers are rated 4 ohm, 88 db sensitivity. The MV125 is a high quality amp and will be able to handle the load without any issue. You are not getting any distortion or clipping. In other words, no acoustic distortion. The ...

Coppy,
Thank you for the update. Glad the "old crew" is enjoying their retirement.
BTW- I spent a lot of time in Sarasota as my parents used to own property down there. Lido Key and St. Armands circle were some of my favorite areas.

Rubicon, suggest you look hard at the Eversolo DMPA8. Does everything, SOTA reviews at both Stereophile and Audio Science Review, and only $1,980. Eversolo has some very cool products. The prices are amazing. The only downsides are that it's a Chinese company,... which explains the competitive ...

Hi Dave, Welcome to CJO, great to have you with us. Also as a fellow NH resident, great to have local audiophiles in the area. Have you ever visited Audio Video Therapy or Fidelis in Nashua? I've bought gear from both. Very friendly and great customer service. Fidelis is an authorized dealer for CJ ...

Re: ET250S warm up behaivior
Hard to say. To 100% rule out tubes they would need to be replaced but if you switched them and still the same channel I would say it would be unlikely. It could be a contact problem and as it warms up and there is heat expansion the connection is established. Similar situation with a cold solder ...
