What's your budget?
Got money: Audioquest has some very nice options. https://www.audioquest.com/collections/rca-interconnects I've had the oppertunity to listen to many of their offerings as my local high end dealer is an authorized seller. So almost all their setups use audioquest. Their line is ...

Re: Premier 17LS: Now In House
At the end of the day you always have to listen to your ears (or your wife's in this case). The Classic 62SE is a great unit. If the Premier 17LS2 didn't pan out and you are happy with the sound paired with the McIntosh, then perhaps you are done. As RJ mentioned, if you want to continue to explore ...

I would love to hear your thoughts on the sound if/when you do the recap. Always good to have options with recaps. My personal experience with recapping has primarily been with Solen caps.

Re: Bobby's house...
Disappointed? Why, that is a very nice sized room. It sounds like it's going to be a great listening room. That is plenty for the CLX. With a little acoustic treatment it should be top tier. I can't wait to see pictures of the finished project.

Re: dna 1 recap !
That's really cool. I'm glad you were able to bring these wonderful amps back to life,... sounds like they are better than ever. Also, big congrats on the Martin Logan Vantages. I used to own a pair for a number of years and absolutely loved them.
Again, congrats.

Re: Recently acquired PV5 Photos and Some Questions
When you say "built better", could you elaborate on what that means? Not saying you are not correct, it's just that we are looking at very early designs of CJ and manufactures typically tend to not have the best designs coming right out of the gate. The Premier line started in 1981 I believe so you ...

Re: Recently acquired PV5 Photos and Some Questions
I think all of these units had excellent build quality for that era. But we should keep in mind that these are over 40 years old now. They most certainly need extensive refurbishing if you plane to get longevity and top performance out of these units.

Re: CA150 Sub Out Question
You may be able to use the "sub out" RCA connector from the CA150 to go to the MF2550 and then have the subs connected to the MF2550 and the main speakers to the CA150 speaker out. I think that would work. I would just check on the volume leveling as you may need to compensate for some amplitude ...

Re: Which used CJ amp to buy?
If you want to buy used then that opens up a lot of CJ options in that price range. If you want to look at new, then you are looking at a Classic 62 or the CAV45-s2 which is a controller amp so takes the place of both preamp and amp,... some really good bang for your buck there. As for the used ...

Very nice. Congrats on the upgrade and enjoy those tunes. May take some time to fully burn in so I'm sure the sound is just going to get better and better for awhile.

The table does look very nice. I love the look of natural wood grain. You are going to have to post a picture when it's in your home in all its glory!

Re: TT Grounding Question.
AJ is correct. It's already grounded. You have another topic going on about static discharge problems. That is not a grounding issue problem with the TT. It's you being electrically charged when you touch your equipment.

Re: Wonky Static Charge Issue.
Dave, you are over thinking it. It doesn't matter if you have a huge kilo piece of metal or a fine 24 gauge wire. Electricity will flow the path of least resistance.
Before you put a ton of effort into this. Just see if this solves the problem:
1) Ground a wire to the power outlet your equipment ...

Re: Bobby's house...
That diffusion board with the little pieces of wood is awesome. It will do a good job of diffusing the sound and looks great. It's going to be a major upgrade that you will get to enjoy for many years. Really can't wait to see the final project completed.

Re: Bobby's house...
I think we currently have the maximum file size allowed for attachments at 15mb. I got the email you sent me and I think the video size is around 220mb. Video takes up a lot of space and CJO is probably not the best place to host very large files. Really designed for pictures, documents, and a ...

Very exciting. That's a very nice sized room and should accommodate any speaker available. When do you think the construction will be over and ready for the system to be moved in?

Re: Wonky Static Charge Issue.
If you discharge static buildup (as discussed above) before touching the equipment, I don't really see how you could damage the preamp. I wouldn't put my preamp in storage when there are sub $10 solutions to discharge static prior to touching my equipment. Why not just buy one of those static ...

Re: Wonky Static Charge Issue.
roberto is very correct that if the system is not well grounded then that can be a source of static. When I was having issues with static discharge, it was rather apparent that it wasn't my equipment that as the issue but myself. In the winter I would often wear flannel pants and used a blanket that ...
