Disappointed? Why, that is a very nice sized room. It sounds like it's going to be a great listening room. That is plenty for the CLX. With a little acoustic treatment it should be top tier. I can't wait to see pictures of the finished project.

I think all of these units had excellent build quality for that era. But we should keep in mind that these are over 40 years old now. They most certainly need extensive refurbishing if you plane to get longevity and top performance out of these units.

AJ is correct. It's already grounded. You have another topic going on about static discharge problems. That is not a grounding issue problem with the TT. It's you being electrically charged when you touch your equipment.

Dave, you are over thinking it. It doesn't matter if you have a huge kilo piece of metal or a fine 24 gauge wire. Electricity will flow the path of least resistance.

Before you put a ton of effort into this. Just see if this solves the problem:

That diffusion board with the little pieces of wood is awesome. It will do a good job of diffusing the sound and looks great. It's going to be a major upgrade that you will get to enjoy for many years. Really can't wait to see the final project completed.
