PV12A tube and upgrade question

New to the forum but have been a long time fan of Conrad Johnson gear
I recently acquired a PV12 pre amp with phono stage and really impressed with it so far - very musical pre indeed.
Quick question please - is it safe to use 6211 tubes instead of the 12AU7 type in the line stage? I know they are very close types but still different - so wanted to check before trying anything...
Also, I see some threads here on the teflon caps upgrade and its sonic benefits. My caps looks fine but curious about the upgrade.
Which caps are worthwhile to replace with new teflon caps and what specs and brand of teflon caps should I be looking for please?
