My CT-5 was driving me crazy when I first got it as every once in a while it would just got quiet, volume display would read 0 and nothing would work. Curse, unplug, wait and all was good.
I switched remotes for the one for the 17LS and all was fine until the 17LS did the same thing.
Okay, it's the remote.
I broke off the head of a Q-tip, got a little WD-40 into each of the remote's buttons, worked them a bunch of times to unstick one of them and all if good in preamp land.

Re: Preamp resetting itself
Glad you were able to fix it and a good tip for us with older remotes just in case. Thanks.

Re: Preamp resetting itself
Glad it was just a remote issues that was easily fixable. You had me worried there that it was something more serious.
