As an owner of the PV-12, I can say it's a great unit and you get a lot of bang for your buck. But we have to be realistic in its limitations. No fancy remotes, basic functions, and as it's pushing 3 decades, component failure becomes a real issue.

As for comparison to the PV10, all things being equal I would get a PV12 if your choice is limited to those two.

The 11 was the PV flagship that replaced the 8.

The 9 and 10 were price point driven.

The 12 was a legitimate follow on to the 11 as preamps began to lose some features in favor of CD and HT applications.

As with all very old electronics, the state of repair and maintenance may be the most important factor in choosing.
It’s just stuff. I like mine. I hope you like yours. I probably like yours too.

Yes, definitely PV12 but try to get hold of a PV15. That will be a very nice improvement and a significant margin overall, real vfm!
