Thoughts on MF-5600?

Post by SteveFord »

I'm thinking about what to do with the boob tube system and I have quite a few small Magnepans to drive - imagine that.
It's not surround sound, it's run off of a regular stereo preamp so it's a wall of sound type affair.
Right now I'm running 3 amps so getting everything into one box would be a good thing.

Does anyone have any experience with the MF-5600?
I'm not looking for the last word in sonics, just something that won't make me get up and turn it down and then turn it off and put on headphones.
I'm thinking it will sound similar to the MF-2275 which would be just right.

It is supposed to be in the same family as the 2275 and 2550, both of which Ive owned and like quite well.

Edit: I’m wrong. It was in the 2250/2500 family, and hence considerably older. There is one on usaudiomart offered for under $1k. You don’t see them come up that often. I am not a fan of the 2250/2500, but many like them quite well.

I have not heard the 5600. For whatever reason, they do not get a lot of love and so the buyer may be in control of the deal.
It’s just stuff. I like mine. I hope you like yours. I probably like yours too.
