however if I do not look at the costs, I replace the pv5 tubes with valuable valves and coupled with curve tracks, I replace the pv5 diodes with fast diodes, I skip all the useless connectors type button-balance and also input selector in my case leaving only the volume, I replace the electrolytic capacitors with mkp and replace the only electrolytic filament with a new unit .... in this case I'm not sure if the new preamps beat the pv5 on the phono... my 2 cent
