Hello,
I'm new on CJO Forum. I'm living in France. Recently I bought an old PV2. Beautiful sound ...but strong noise whisper.

I have the right electrical diagram but no idea concerning the value of parts....

It should be very helpful to find the value of parts .

Welcome to CJO. Great to have you with us.

We do have the PV2 in our schematics database. You probably would want to take a look to see if it gives any more info than the one you have.

You may want to give a little more description of the noise you are experiencing. Is it a 60 hz hum? Does it change based on volume adjustment?

Strong hissing is coming from a tube. My guess is a 12AT7 (V4 or V6), but I could be wrong. Get only one of these, and try. If the hissing still there, maybe a 5751. I had 12AT7 tube with hissing and noisy. Never with the 12AX7. But you never know. It's like winning the lottery. You never know.

For sure, it is a faulty tube.
