Sonographe vs Alchemist Kraken
Just bought a Sonographe SC25 and SA-250 as it was a good price and local , unfortunately the pre has a fault so I’m currently unable to compare ( but I will once I’ve sorted the issue)

Re: Sonographe vs Alchemist Kraken
Very nice. Of course, the CJ gear is my favorite! I love the vintage look of those 12x's. Really cool. It's of course hard to tell from pictures, but I find that older wood tends to dry out and lose it's luster. If that is the case with the 12x's, I've found that Howard's wood conditioner works really well to bring back the quality of the wood. I use this on my antique furniture as well as uncoated wood speaker cabinets and have had good results. I wrote a topic about it here that you may want to read: https://www.conradjohnsonowners.com/vie ... =15&t=1132

Re: Sonographe vs Alchemist Kraken
Thanks for the tip , I’ll see if it’s available over here .like you said the wood on the Tannoys hadn’t been treated with anything by the one owner so used danish oil with great effect.
Cheers
