Looking for advice. I wanted a 2275 because it's newer and smaller than the 2500, and half the watts per channel (which is ok for me).
But there is a good deal on a 2500 with new caps.
Anyone have any thought about which one might sound better?
Thanks.
Conrad Johnson MF2500 vs MF2275
Re: Conrad Johnson MF2500 vs MF2275
The two units are essentially as close as you are going to get in the CJ line beyond the obvious difference of power output. They are a same generation release in the CJ line. So if you are ok with the 120 watts per channel of the 2275 I really don't see a downside.

Re: Conrad Johnson MF2500 vs MF2275
I thought the 2500 is one gen earlier than 2275? the the 2275's bigger brother same gen is MF2550 I believe?
Re: Conrad Johnson MF2500 vs MF2275
Oh boy. This was my mistake. My brain completely read the MF2275 as MF2250. I think I'm still jet lagged from earlier this week!
In light of this new realization, if you don't need more than 135 watts per channel, I would go with the MF2275 over he older MF2500. Unless you have very insensitive speakers, this definitely would be the way that I go. It's an improved and newer circuit design. Not only should the sound be better, but longevity and reliability should be longer (all things being equal).

Thanks so much. That is super helpful. I've been leaning toward the 2275, just can't find one.
