EV-1 channel imbalance fixed

One of my buddies made up an external tape loop box so I can burn CD-Rs from albums and the upstairs EV-1 had a really bad channel imbalance.
Plug in the Jolida JD-9 and it's the EV-1 so to the tube tester we go.
There was an EI 12AU7 in there that failed the emissions test, popped in a Baldwin organ pull 12AU7 and problem solved.
If only everything was that easy, the hardest part was finding where I stuck the box of spare conrad-johnson tubes, that took a few hours of poking around.

One of the things that I love that the tubes have is: the user can fix the most common problems. When a SS fails, it is not a user possibility fix, unless he or she has electronic knowledge, tools and service info. With tubes, the first thing to do when a channel fails is swap L to R tubes. This is the easiest way to find the bad tube.
