I’ve not had a EL34 tube amp. I have heard that some amps from CJ were outfitted for both EL and SE versions as KT tubes and that some TRANSFORMERs are built for one but not both.
My question is I have had the SE version of Classic 120SE with KT120 but not EL tubes in non-SE version. Does the amp do both very well?
Try and stay away from semantic and if you can give absolutes please as it becomes convoluted and confusing to me. Anyone with experience?

Classic 120 Question
Re: Classic 120 Question
Jeffrey,
I wrote to you in Facebook. The same Roberto. You can send your SE version to Jeff, and he will do all the changes that are needed for the use of the El-34s.
Happy listening!

Re: Classic 120 Question
And if you want to keep your Classic 120SE as it is, but purchase an additional amp instead, there is a used non-SE version of the Classic 120 at the music room (tmraudio.com) that uses EL34's.
Re: Classic 120 Question
I am not sure if the Classic 120 , which is the El34 tube version can be converted for KT tubes , or not. That would be a question for Jeff. Jeff can convert The Classic 120 SE to an EL34 Tube version.
The Classic 120 is a very good amp and I would recommend it highly for someone looking for a El34 tube based amp. Plenty of power to handle my Harbeth M40.2s
Jeff can convert a Classic 120 SE unit to an EL34 Tube version. I believe it is a very simple process. Not sure if a Classic 120 unit can be converted to a KT tube version though. I have not heard of it myself.

Re: Classic 120 Question
I am pretty sure the official difference between the 120 and the 120 SE is that the SE version uses CJD Teflon caps and runs with KT120s.
As for The Music Room in Colorado, my experience as both buyer and seller has always been excellent. They have recently expanded their operations. They can get more as a dealer than you can get selling as a private party, so they’re able to give you credible cash ... and they will pay for you to ship your stuff to them.

It’s just stuff. I like mine. I hope you like yours. I probably like yours too.
