New tubes for the old lady

received a complete set of new tubes from the Tube Amp Doctor, here in Germany.
If of interest for the tech heads:

- matched quartet of TAD 6550A-SVT Blackplate premium
- matched pair of GE 5751 5-star, triple mica, grey plate NOS
- matched pair of 6CG7 / 6FQ7 NOS

All tubes are USA origin (home country of my conny) .

I‘m also in contact with Jeff Fischel who promised me to send me the telflon capacitor upgrade kit for my Premier 11A.

Fantastic mate! Now that's what I'm talking about.

This should be a worthwhile upgrade, should provide you with a high percentage in improvement.
Take your time and complete the job well, bring up the tubes to spec and things should settle in nicely.

Are they no longer available from conrad-johnson?

I’ve never found them to be willing to send proprietary caps.

The unit goes back to them, and they install and warranty.

Can’t blame them.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Thought you meant replacement tube kits.

I had the C1 replacement done on my Pr 140 and the improvement was worth it. Never did have it done on my 16LS2 -- it was way too expensive for my liking -- $4,500 and that was a good number of years ago.

My Premier 11a was C1 upgraded back in June of this year. It is marvelous; fantastic, and worth every penny. I sometimes think it may be better than the Premier 12 monoblock c1 upgrade and then again its half the power but still a wonderful idea to do it.
