Axpona 2014 in Chicago

Post by eagle6014 »

I attended said show on the 26th of Apr & had a blast again. I was happy to see C-J had proper representation this year. On display was an HD3, ET3, ET5, and the mighty LP125sa. And what a mighty amp that thing is. It's huge! Much bigger than my LP66. I spoke with the proprietor of Superior Audio Systems of Chicago and he & I are going to meet again later at his place. He was also the same person who brought the C-J gear to the show. Nice guy. Anyway, I didn't want to leave empty handed this year so on the way out I bought a brand new Sennheiser HD650 headphone for $424 (tax included). They sound great here in my Oppo. Highly recommended. I also got to eyeball some gear from Accustic Arts, Legacy, Coda, MBL, Sonus Faber, & so many others. The hotel this year was much larger and better for the acoustics than the place last year. Much easier to get to & parking was free. That is all, Pat.

Wow, I'm so jealous.... there is nothing like that near my location. Sounds like it was a blast and I'm glad they had some CJ gear on display. Any pictures?

Sorry no pics. The ones I did take came out awful. But rest assured that one of the high end magazines will cover this show. Pat

I helped Joe the owner of Superior Audio System setup the room. This was the first time I heard the ET-5 and LP125sa. I wish I could afford those pieces. The sound was excellent for a hotel room with minimal room treatment. I attached some pictures I took of the room.

Below are some youtube link of video I took in the room.

Sadly I did not come across any C-J equipment at AXPONA 2016. Being newly "converted" if you will, I was hoping to see some of the newer products on display there. I did not get to every room, but I did look for C-J in the manufacturer list and don't recall seeing them. Hopefully someone will display at 2017.

Technics SL-1210G/Nagaoka MP500/Dynavector XX2 Mk. II/SweetVinyl SugarCube/C-J EV-1
