G'day Anthony, nice one!

Nothing like tubes and vinyl, pure bliss!
Have you got the ET3 or SE version? The MC275 is one very nice amp indeed. I think those KT88's with the McIntosh's power supply layout was one superb design made decades ago and hasn't been bettered even to this day; Mc set the standard with that one.

What really caught my eye is your Rega RP3- I've got the same one! What cartridge and phonstage are you using?

I'm using two of them but mostly listen to the 2MBlack. Started with the 2MBlue and thought this was ok. Upgraded to the 2MBlack thinking I'd get a better overall presence from vinly- yes I did but it was marginal. I think the 2MBlue is just as good. What really makes the difference in TT playback in my opinion, is the Phono stage with a high quality preamp. Having a decent cartridge is good enough. I will upgrade to c-j's phonon stage later, for now I'm enjoying the Phono MMC from Rega, good value.

How are those Focal's by the way? Quite a lot of fellow audiophiles/music specialists here in Melbourne have Focals. They absolutely love them. Definitely good speakers but in Australia they are quite expensive.

How have you got the system positioned? Are your Focals away from the back wall with ample space including the sides? I remember listening to a pair few years ago (Focal Grand Utopia), the room had to be quite large for them to really open up, and wow did they open up! Great dynamics too, amplification was MC601's with a Mc- C48 as the preamp. I loved the look and sound of the C48, although I still prefer the MC452 to the bigger MC601's.

Great stuff indeed, enjoy your vinyl and that RP3- one special combination you've got there. Well done.
Cheers, RJ

I have an ET3 with the low gain phono stage. ( Not sure if it is an SE) I am using the 2m MM Bronze on my RP3 Rega makes one of the best tone arms out there . I also have the 2m Blue on another turn table in my record room .
The Focal's 826v are a really great speaker .I just brought them in december they replaced my B&W CDM 7se . which was a great speaker on to itself.
Music Direct in the US had a Black Friday sale $1348 U.S.D . Plus 100 bucks for create shipping . Every else over 2 grand .

Welcome to CJO Anthony,
I am from Queens, too. I lived in Astoria.
I have owned B&W CDM7SE in the late 90s. Great speakers, used them with Meridian. Sold the system to my friend and he still use them today.

Your ET3 is a great piece, hard to beat at its price point. I am a new CJ fan, just got my complete CJ setup. I moved from all Pass Labs to all BAT.
