Review:

One of the CD's that I had gotten for Christmas was Clapton's 24 Nights and I was excited to finally get the opportunity to play this on my system with my new Conrad Johnson D/A-2b processor. This CD is about 20 years old and was recorded live. Many of Clapton's greatest hits are on here and overall he does a wonderful rendition of these loved classics.

The audio quality was quite good, especially considering that this was a live recording and not out of a studio without countless takes spliced together. There is good volume mix between Clapton's voice and the instrumentals. I find that the most common deficiency in live recordings is that either the instruments are too loud or too soft in relation to the singer's voice. Luckily, this is not the case on this album. Overall the acoustic quality of the album is about a 4 or maybe even a 4.5 out 5. That is pretty darn good in my opinion, especially considering this was recorded live.

As for the music itself I don't think I have to get too specific. This is Eric Clapton. You can consider this a greatest hits CD as almost every song he plays was quite popular. My personal favorite track is "Wonderful Tonight" on disc 2. Clapton's mastery of the guitar is unparalleled and it really shines. If you are a Clapton fan, this is a must own. If you appreciate a good Blues Rock album then I still recommend the purchase.
