Klipsch RP-160M - Wow!

Post by joeinid »

Just received these this morning.

I have to say they are wonderful. Alive, smooth, open, easy to drive. I really like them.

Once broken in, I'll have to compare to the LS50. Each has their strengths.

They certainly look beautiful. Congrats on the purchase. Somebody is having a very nice Christmas with all these treats!

BTW, what kind of speaker stands are you using with them?

Thank you Gabor.

I honestly don't remember the name. I think they are like a pressboard, composite type material. The center column is hollow and I filled it with sand. I am sure that I need better stands but these will do for now.

It seems like the stands fit the speaker exactly, seems like you got really lucky in this case. Again, very cool.

Speakers have come and gone, but the stands have stayed. They work really well and I don't see a need to change right now. Yes, very lucky am I :)

I absolutely love these little Klipsch speakers. For $440 or less, they are not only a blast but amazing performers. They do not have any typical horn traits, just an open non-aggressive presentation with plenty of dimension and natural vocals. Everyone should own a pair.

When these are paired with a great amp like CJ, they are even better. They are pretty efficient so you do need to be aware of total gain in your system. I really am enjoying them.
