What do people recommend for a turntable and cartridge, total cost in the $500-$1,500 range? I prefer used.

c-j Premier 8A monoblocks, c-j PV11, PSB Imagine Towers. Currently using the Dual ULM CS508 I bought new decades ago. It is fine, but I wonder how I might improve. The PV11 is MM, although it claims to work with certain MC.

You can get a very nice entry/mid level turntable from Rega for that price (new), and one of their higher models used. If used is what your interested in I would do an audiogon search to see what they have in that price range and go from there.
