How many hours do you get on a set of output/power tubes?

From tubes to solid state.

Under 2 circumstances:

1) They go bad.

2) I want to experiment.

Unfortunately, I don't keep track of how many hours I put on each set of tubes so I have no good way of knowing when I should be changing them out periodically.

They usually last 2000-3000 hours. Most manufacturer recommend you to change the tubes every 2000 hours.

I notice degradation in sound quality after ~2000 hours. After 2500 they definitely need replacement. When I replace the output tubes after 200o hours there is a very noticeable improvement in SQ.
