Hi all,

This is my first post.

I am the proud owner of a ET3 preamp and Classic 62 SE amplifier.

Some how when I unpacked the boxes and started to put the tubes in I managed to drop one of the KT120 tubes.

As I'm sure you can imagine my frustration with myself is... well

What would be the best course of action, would I need to replace all the KT120's so they are matched?

Im eagerly waiting to here this system fired up, probably my haste was to my detriment. An expensive lesson in patience!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Julian

Just get a new single tube. You don't need matches tubes in the Classic 62. Get a good tube from a reputable source.

That must be so frustrating. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Anyway congratulations on your new CJ gear.

When you get your new tube, make sure you follow the "Adjusting Output Tube Bias" section of the manual.

Hola. I get my tubes at www.thetubestore.com They have full stock and different brands of tubes. The price is about the same everywhere. Usually there is an explanation about what each tube does to the sound. Mostly the tubes are used on guitar or bass amplifiers, so the explanation could describe how the instrument sounds.

as ronenash said, because each tube on the amplifier has a bias control, there is no needed to be a matched pair.

Happy listening!

Hey mate,
did you manage to get another KT120 as yet?

if so, great! and don't forget to bias as suggested. Not too sure where you're located but if you happen to be in Aus down unda, we have our very own CJ importer / dealer in Melbourne, Sound Reference. Just call up Damien and he'll gladly help, Good mate of mine.
Cheers & have a good one,
RJ
