6922 / E88CC v ECC88 - help! CJ Premier 140

Post by vinyl »

Greetings all,

I recently acquired a well looked after Conrad Johnson Premier 140 (UK voltage) and it's great. The tube rolling will bite I've no doubt - so on my early initial research I'm confused if I can use an ECC88 in place of the stock 6922 / E88CC? (I know how different tubes can be sonically satisfying to different ears, and in different systems so quite happy to start rolling until I enjoy one type / find my preference).

So can my amp safely utilise an ECC88?
