PV-5 Transformer working voltage.

Post by Napata »

Hello guys may I ask if you guys know the transformer in/out voltages? In the part list it only shows c126 128a but I could not find any information about it.

Hi Napata, I'm working on a PV11 preamp and use the same transformer, Red cables were open which is the high voltage, I send it to a transformer tech and this was his readinds
Primary = Black- blue-yellow
Between yellow and blue = 450 wounds cal #27
Between blue and black = 105 wounds cal #27
for 120vac operation = between black and yellow = 555 wounds cal #27
Orange- vio- white = same as above in parallel with above = black with orange....white with yellow....blue and vio not connected for
for 120vac
Secondary Red cables 1770 wounds cal #35
Brown cables 97 wounds cal #21

So with the n1/n2 rule the voltages at 120vac input should be 120x1770/555 = 382 volts at red
120x97/555= 21 volts at brown

If anyone have measure this voltages with a tester please confirm if this are the correct voltages measure in the preamp in working state, I'll be very appreciated

After speaking with a Conrad Johnson specialist the rectified voltages are suppose to be 20 vdc ( brown rectified) and 420 vdc ( red rectified), so straight out of the transformer should be around 16 vac ( browns ) and 336 vac ( reds )....so the primary's are around 650 wounds not 555

sorry for the (really) late reply. Thank you very much for the help! I can now rebuild one transformer with that specification! Once again thank you for all the generous helping!
