I am looking to tighten up the bass in my PV 5. My goal is to get a little more definition and loose a little of the mushiness.
Which tubes are most important to tone in the PV 5?
What do other people roll in to change tone?

Do you use the fono stage?

...as in you feed a separate linestage with the Record Outs?BillyB wrote:Yes. Almost exclusively.

I would image it's, turntable --> phono input on PV5 --> Amp. If you fed the turntable into the linestage inputs on the PV5 that would be rather low volume.jeffreybehr wrote:...as in you feed a separate linestage with the Record Outs?BillyB wrote:Yes. Almost exclusively.

Indeed. He wrote fono almost exclusively, so I assumed he'd use the fono input and then possibly feed that signal, using Record Out, to a separate line stage. Else, he's not using the fono stage 'exclusively', but perhaps that's not what he meant.admin wrote:I would image it's, turntable --> phono input on PV5 --> Amp. I'm trying to determine if he uses the linestage of the PV5.
