CJ PV-5 power supply caps

Post by mmmalmberg »

Anyone familiar with PV-5's? I would like to replace any potentially aging caps in the power supply and was going to put together a list and order some. Looking at the schematic and parts list I see the following caps all of which seem like they would associate with the power supply or possibly be electrolytics, given their voltage ratings. Should I just be looking at C2-5? Or which caps should I replace? Thanks for any help...

IIRC the PV-5 has a two section electrolytic. It is the aluminum cap early in the power supply section close to the front right side of the chassis. That one frequently leaks. Remove the cap and the factory replaces it with two smaller microfarad value Solen caps. Again IIRC, it was two 22 uF Solen 630 volt caps.
