Re: Is there any Teflon in this chassis? I have outlined what was believed to be Teflon Caps in blue outline
That is good to hear I guess. I was told that the caps with the black ends were potentially the Teflon ones. It does look like the caps in a 17ls2 I once owned; the black ended ones.

Re: Best MM cartridge for vintage C-J tube preamp
Hi Kurt, welcome to the group. My experience as limited as it is, is the focus on cart compatibility with tone arm first, then your load capability with the phono pre. The PV8 manual is your best starting point. FROM CJ's Manual: Phono input:This input provides the amplification and equalization req...

Does anyone have EV1 User Instructions, manual?
I purchased an EV1. I had assumed there are different dip switches for load setting. I Looked on CJ's site and they don't post an EV1 guide which is strange but true. Is there anyone who has one I can get a copy from?

Would you buy and ART Series 3 and How Much Should you Pay?
Its a simple question, Would you buy and ART Series 3, if you would then what is your reason or why, and finally how much in US Dollars Would you be willing to spend. I'm asking because I'm not sure how much they should go for or if they are that great? Assume I get that its not a GAT Series 2 and w...

Re: Premier 18 Vs ET3
No experience with P-18, but if the CA200 (based on P350 power and P-18 pre) is any indicator when used as a Pre-(yes it has a pre out only), the result was to me terrible, livable, but compared to P-16 or P-12 or PV12, not something I wanted long term. It is not surprise you feel something lacking ...

The GAT2 is an outstanding pre. I don't think that I've had better. It is simply detailed, quiet, musical.

Re: Premier 11, Premier 12, Premier 140 in order of hierarchy and short list of why you chose
Hola Joe, Mr Bill Thalmann is truly gentleman. Also his knowledge is vast. Servicing and designing Conrad Johnson is not an easy task. He, long time ago, did enlighten me with his knowledge, helping me to solve some service issues. Just a little note about him. Happy listening! Can you enlighten us...

Re: TUBES FOR THE GAT2
ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR TUBES FOR THE GAT2. CURRENTLY USING JAN NOS 6922 PHILLIPS. ANYONE? Last night a 6922 went out in my ART 150. It was the Philips Holland E88c's sent with the amp from CJ a month back. I went upstairs and got a Quad of Genalex Gold Lion 6922's (platinum rated by Upscale) I had bou...

Re: Speaker Wood Conditioner recommendation
No sanding... that is using a Magic Eraser (you do know what they are?), a little water to get the years of wax, grime, cigarette smoke (not mine) off so when you use the OOOO Steel Wool and the wood restorer to take it down with out sanding. See the attached image. When you got nothing to lose, you...

Re: Speaker Wood Conditioner recommendation
It has been my secret ingredient for a long time along with their wood restorer and xxxx Steel wool and the Magic Eraser. In my beginning I had many 1970's/1980's speakers I acquired cheaply that had the typical beer can/drink stains. Using Magic eraser, Howard's finish restorer and the final step t...

Re: What speakers are you using with your Conrad Johnson gear?
Joe, now worries, your 2cents and all. Wilson's are an excellent match with the right one and depending on who you are, the room, etc. You seem to spend more time telling us how much you don't like the Wilson's and less time telling us what you like. :) What are you using now on your CJ equipment wa...

Re: Two doubts about CJ Act 2 s2
I did not see any transit screws in my delivery either. Now, as for the phase inversion, your P350 (which I has as well and is the only CJ amp I have that inverts) cancels out the phase inversion of the GAT2 so as directed before no changes needed but when a change is needed is when you introduce a ...

Re: What speakers are you using with your Conrad Johnson gear?
I am using Wilson Audio Sophia II"s and loving it with my GAT2 and either my Premier 12's or ART 150. There is simply nothing that has compared to these for me with either Tubes or SS using my Premier 350. You can pick up a nice condition used pair for under 7K.
