Re: AudioQuest, 72 V DBS, rambles
Enjoy! I know what you mean about the angled spades being a little difficult to work with. A friend sent me one of the AQ lower level models (CV-4) and I had to push my CA200 back a few inches so its rear end could hang over that back of the rack in order to get them on. They do, even for entry leve...

Re: Is CJ still in business?
Exactly. It's something you'd expect to see in MOMA. Beautiful execution. That isn't a remote, it's art.

Re: Is CJ still in business?
The one ergonomic disappointment with my Premier 16LS2 is the buttons for volume rather than a knob. I guess knobs are one desire that doesn't affect sound as another and are harmless in that sense when controlling a ladder of Vishay resistors. As to whether they're more ergonomic than buttons I do...

Re: Tap Settings on P12 or LP140m
Lamp wire and rca patch cords that came with the equipment was mainly maybe only what was available at the time. Then Monster speaker cable from Atlantic Stereo, AudioQuest Ruby interconnects from J&R Music World, TARA Space and Time TFA ordered from Audio Advisor and thus began my slide down th...

Re: Tap Settings on P12 or LP140m
For the time it sounded good to me. Had both the SQ module that fitted in the bay underneath the unit and the standalone CD-4 demodulator, too. The Pioneer turntable was fitted with a Pickering cartridge (XUV-4500Q I think) so the frequency response extended to 45kHz and the demodulator was therefor...

Re: Tap Settings on P12 or LP140m
Thanks, AJ. I'm going to read through them more out of curiosity than the chance of buying one but still... It was part of the system my (now ex-) wife and I bought when we were first married back in 1974 as a wedding present to ourselves together with 4 Cerwin-Vega speakers (211R), a Dokorder 7140 ...

Re: Tap Settings on P12 or LP140m
I had a Marantz 4300 back in the day. Four mono 40W amps went to 2 x 100 in stereo. Sweet sounding without being cloying good detail but not what you'd call transparent. Still wish I had it at times but I bet at this point (50 years on) a whole bunch of stuff would've been replaced along the way. ht...

Re: CJ Premier 350SA Faceplate Bolt?
For the heck of it I looked at the faceplate on the CA200. All four screw are sunk into a black plastic collar but the two on the right have collars that protrude about twice as much as those on the left. A puzzlement. EDIT/AFTERTHOUGHT: Could these discrepancies be something that Conrad Johnson did...

Re: Another Premier 350SA Question
You're welcome, Jeff. AJ is quite right in that Paul is quite accessible on the PS Audio Forum and maybe through other avenues I'm not aware of. PS Audio did engage Bascom H, King as AJ mentions and his designs bear the BHK prefix in the PS Audio product line. The site is forum.psaudio.com and you m...

Re: Another Premier 350SA Question
If the number of inversions is an even number and that sounds like your case then you're okay to leave it + to + and - to -.

Re: Another Premier 350SA Question
AJ hit on the unlikelihood of learning the manufacture date using the serial number but it's worth a shot if you can get through to CJ. The Premier 350SA inverts phase so that's something to be aware of and, if necessary, to compensate for. One reviewer https://www.soundstagenetwork.com/revequip/con...

Re: RCA Interconnects
Think they charge a percentage (15% ?) of the value of the cable to try them out. But, if you make a purchase it's applied to the purchase price. I've never tried this feature myself but especially for those without easy access to a dealer it's attractive. And even if one does have access, they have...

Re: Wilson speakers
Origin of Enough is as Good as a Feast: This idiom first appeared in print in the year 1660, by James Howell, in an English-French-Italian-Spanish dictionary titled Lexicon Tetraglotton. The only explanation that accompanies its entry is that it is an English proverb. This proverb may date back to a...

Re: Wilson speakers
Yep, what Admin said. I've heard Wilson speakers only twice in my life and both were times in two rooms at a NY Audio show held a number of years ago. In both cases the preamps and amps were D'Agostino (I think Momentum but I couldn't swear to it). As we know that stuff ain't cheap and the amps plen...

I'm sorry, Roberto, that you were so unfortunate but as AJ and Admin have said the mercy is that no one was injured and the damage was somewhat contained. Still, it's a bummer.

AJ, I hesitate to even mention this because it sounds like you've come to a decision and I may just muddy the waters but something did occur to me. The Ethernet cable I did like the most but had to sell because of financial constraints at one point were two 1M Wireworld Starlight 8 Twinax Ethernet c...

Re: Holo May Kte back to normal operation
There are a good number of Ethernet cables that are well-regarded from the usual cable company suspects. I looked at the Transparent cable you mentioned AJ and it doesn't go up astronomically with a 50 foot terminated cable run costing $1,055 or $21.10 a foot. The longest run I could find of Audioqu...

Re: AQ Cinnamon Ethernet Cable
I've tried the AQ Pearl Ethernet cable and while it's the bottom of their product line it is one of my favorites. I haven't tried any of the real higher end cables. The most expensive one I've bought is the In-Akustik Referenz which is a Cat 6 type with silver-plated 24 gauge wires. The 1M was $68 a...
