Holo May Kte back to normal operation
Hola Chicos, I want to say that Mr Tim Connors from Kitsune USA really supported me with the Holo May Kte DAC problem. The MCU (micro controller unit) stop working in my unit. Mr. Connors took me in a journey with simple questions regarding the problem and now the unit is back to normal operation. H...

Re: How to be a responsible owner
Hola, Admin is right!. I also recommend when powering on the system, the last in the sequence is the power amplifier, but wait at least one minute and then power the amp. And turning the system off, turn the power amp off and wait at least one minute and then proceed to power off all the devices tha...

Re: Phillips PCC88 or Gold Lion 6922
Thank you my friends, I do feel you and your concern. Tim gave a lot of advice and those make a lot of sense. The built quality, for those who like the good built things, the only cables that are in the unit are in the power supply, from the IEC power AC connector to the main board and the hand made...

Re: Phillips PCC88 or Gold Lion 6922
I had a problem with my HOLO DAC, and went back to my Exasound DAC. The truth is, I am not missing the Holo very much...this Exasound dac is very good. Of course the Holo May Kte is a better DAC. I was not aware of this. What happened? I don't know, it fails to turn on. Only red LED on. You can hea...

Re: Phillips PCC88 or Gold Lion 6922
Hey jimbones, I'm glad you liked the GL. That's the one that I am using. To me is the best S/N and love the harmonic texture too. Very dynamic and the bass is robust, clean and well defined. I had a problem with my HOLO DAC, and went back to my Exasound DAC. The truth is, I am not missing the Holo v...

Re: Conrad Johnson SoundLab Electrostatics
There are general rules, and for me, the most important is: do you like what you hear? It's your system. Just enjoy those fine tunes as my friend RJ always says. You are describing exactly what CJ quality sound is. Also, your speakers and system is not a penny cost system. The reason why you are exp...

Re: Static noise with PV-14L
Thanks for letting me know that are factory caps. Sprague are a very well known brand making caps. Being the speakers so sensitive, just play any song and adjust your pleasant level. Then stop the music. Don't touch anything else and leave the volume knob untouched. If you don't have any noise, you ...

Re: Static noise with PV-14L
Hola Admin, The orange color of the Caps on the bottom left seems to be non original. If these caps are part of the signal, these could be the culprit of the problem. Reading you also, the most principal suspect are the small signal tubes. You should not use the EPL circuit. It is too noisy. If you ...

Re: Tube biasing question
The Company Conrad Johnson was founded in 1977 with their first product, the PV-1 preamplifier that launched in that year. These great guys, Bill and Lew had a small garage where they did all their electronic research, their design and started to build their Company. The circuity used on their produ...

Re: Upgrade from lp140m?
Yes, they do have top match good parts. They were made before the SE (Special Edition series). What the SE version does has the latest circuit topology (the shortest possible) and choosing how to improve the S/R and harmonic texture. The best parts are very picked for this purpose too...this is what...

Re: MV45 running too hot
Hola, I think AJ nailed. Due to the age of the amp, I think you have a bad power transformer. Excessive heat usually the culprit is the power transformer. Fresh caps in the power supply will get rid of that hum, small signal tubes produce the white noise. Sorry being the bad news guy. You might find...

Re: How do tubes alter sound in P12
Hola jimbones, Well, certainly people is entitled to have its own preferences and liking. Me, I never will go back to the 6550s(C) having the KT-120. To my ears and liking, I have much better bass control, making it tight and very well reproduced. There are musical notes with a deepness when the mus...

Re: KT150 update
well, time really goes by, and Putin is over 70, so he won't last for ever. I was talking or thinking metaphoric way...it's a saying here in Costa Rica: it won't last 100 year or a body whom can stand it. I just believe that Ukraine is totally devastated and the country will need at least 10 years f...

Hola Chicos, I am very sure that this is a temporary state regarding tubes. We know that Putin's war against Ukraine is the why there are no tubes for the moment. Sharks are all over the world...and of course they are taking advantage of the moment. But I assure you that soon there will be more tube...
