Re: CJ PV2 upgrades

There seems to be very little out there on the early cj pv series. I have seen upgrades to the power supply and wondered if anyone had personally completed the upgrade to 2A or the 2AR. Not sure if upgrading to those revisions would yield as much difference as just replacing worn out components. Di...

Re: PV-2

Well I couldnt help myself. I picked up a Conrad Johson MF-2200 to go along with the PV2. I only had the PV2 a couple of days and was pairing it with Parasound HCA-750. Well I have now switched out the Parasound for the Conrad Johnson and I have mixed feelings. The CJ is much more laid back and bas...

Re: CJ 2 channel and Home Theater all in one

Nice. Having the back of the room open probably helps in the sound. Prior to building my home theater room I had my stereo in a smaller room with the back of the room having two glass double doors leading into the rest of the house. There was a noticeable improvement in the sound with the doors ope...

I make one third of what I used to....two masters degrees in business, and all I ca...

Re: PV1 MV50 MV52

Yeah, I usually do a save and even email to myself if it is a particularly long post and I am on an "unreliable computer"(not uncommon for some older ones of mine to have unscheduled shutdowns), just didnt seem like it had been that long(then again I type faster than I talk most the time.....

Re: PV1 MV50 MV52

Well after another lengthy narrative and pics, I hit submit, and it logs me out.....ugh...oh well....short version....

Fixed PV1 with replacing one tiny cap. Sounds great as expected....ugh, still dismayed about losing my post, the one time I dont save before posting. Bleh

Re: Hello from Missouri

Thank you both. Peter, sounds like you did right by those ARs on both the woodworking and the electronics. I have restored countless pairs, very few to original though. Most were too far gone, mostly replacing drivers and doing "new" crossovers. Part my design, part a fellow I worked with....

Hello from Missouri

Found this site from a very helpful fellow on another forum. Currently working on a PV-1, and next a MV-50. Have a perfectly fine MV-52(for now), but it gets daily use so I am sure it will come under the knife soon enough. Plan on building a three way actice all CJ system(except for the speakers and...
