Re: CJ LP70S
The 6550s pin array is different to the EL34s. They are NOT direct interchangeable. The difference in not only the plate bias current. Is the pin array too. Look for the pin out for each tube. You will see the difference. the third grid on the 6550 is connected to the cathode, pin no. 8 and the thir...

Re: Oh! For the love of tubes!
As I always keep saying: let your ears decide...and still, no matter what, the sound of the tubes are the final winner for my ears. Yes, there are some SS well crafted and I do like their sound, I must get accustomed to the way that they sing. The bass usually is much better on SS, I admit this. But...

Re: Right fuses for MF2300? Frustrated with CJ lack of help
Here is what the manual says regarding the fuses: Fuses: There are 5 fuses in the MF2000 Series Amplifiers. One is the ac power line (mains) fuse. It is located in a fuse holder near the power cable. The other four fuses are in the main DC power supplies. On the MF2200 and MF2300, these are located ...

The posts where the screws of the PCB are screwed, must be retighten at the chassis.

Re: Bias lights not working on LP70S
Well, the trick is to have the four LEDs into their position, wiggling a little bit the PCB and then their screws. If you have unsteady PCB, this means that the secured screws are loose and need a retighten all of them. NEVER USE FORCE TO PUT THE LEDS BACK INTO THEIR POSITION.

Re: Bias lights not working on LP70S
Hola smodtactical, You don't see the LEDs into their hole because they are not in the right position. The first thing that you have to do is to take the whole PCB (print circuit board) apart again. Then straiten again the LED pins back again with much care. Before you put the screws back that secure...

Re: ART Phono Preamp
Ooopppsss, please excuse me. I did not see this. Joe, I don’t think it would be a split design. Using today’s electronics, switching inputs can be done digitally. Phono 1 is for MC and MM , phono 2 is for MC and MM too. PHONO 1 factory adjusted for both MM a d MC cartridges. The 53dB 47.5Kohms~63dB ...

Re: Oh! For the love of tubes!
The problem is that this effect is only for one person seating in the sweet spot. If you move a little bit, the effect is lost. The tone and harmonic texture do not change.

Re: Oh! For the love of tubes!
:o  That's a very interesting new way to build tubes! I can see the reason why they are so expensive. I hope they sound as good as they look. Great pic RJ! I think that you are not going to believe what I can do right now in my system. I have the sexted Room Acoustics Tuning by Shun Mook. I h...

I really hope for the best of the world, that this nonsense war will end soon. It looks like Mr Putin is not doing very well, but this man has a lot of cards under his sleeve. War is not a good thing. I am always thinking why these crazy people don't go to the front to fight. They are always behind ...

Re: Oh! For the love of tubes!
Well, I have some in stock. I was lucky to get the Cstock just at the beginning. The price was very low if I do the comparison. Also bought some Genalex Gold Lion 6922 too. This Genalex is not a bad sounding tube, I do know that there are other brands offering better sound. OTOH I am very happy with...

Re: Oh! For the love of tubes!
Hola Chicos, Last night I had the left channel with a truly rare, peculiar, unsteady behavior of one power KT'120. It was located at the front of the amp. The LED bias started to blinking on one tube, and then I did try to adjust it with no luck...then I saw another tube just behind it, with the top...

Thanks Admin, You are right with this!!! All I know is that. On the other hand, you can configure the pre for AC input 120 V. or 240V. But I forgot the AC cable and the connectors. Yes, you need a special IEC 240V AC plug and cable. Just thinking loud, this could be a nice DIY project or you might t...

Re: LP70S vs LP140m
Great advice Admin! I love the KT-120s in my system. I did try out recently an octet of KT88s, and ending again with the KT-120s. I found much better bass control and the stage too. The overall image with the right size of the musical instruments and voices, the KT-120s Tung-Sol are the clear winner...

Re: Regenerator and my CJ monoblocks
I just got for service an amplifier with a hum on only one channel. This amp came to my hands from another workshop. Thanks to God, it was not canibaliczed but the did try to find from where this unwanted hum came from. I was lucky. I don't know the reason why, but the problem was an induction hum. ...
