Re: CJ service

They are doing well with the ART88 and ART108 rollouts. They really are great sounding combos. Historically CJ’s bread and butter came from the mid priced equipment and the higher end was a smaller but important portion. This is flipped upside with the ART88/108’s leading the revenue. That speaks vo...

Re: CJ service

I went to CJ this morning and spoke to Jeff. He said that customers need to use to Contact Us button on their web site and that all fields must be filled out. The reason is so he knows what country of origin and has full name, phone number, and email so they can get back to them. If it is a foreign ...

Re: CJ service

I loved my ET7S2's and so do my customers.

The issue of tubes is a sensitive one. That EH6922 sounds like a good choice too.

Re: CJ service

The hiss is likely a tube. Small chance it is a plate resistor but in almost all cases it is the tube. Sounds strange that a high end tube would do it. I had 4 ET7S2's and they were all dead quiet. However, they seem to go through tubes quicker than I thought they should. The Gold Lions sound great ...

It is up to them to manage the link and returned calls/emails.

So sorry to see this happen.

Re: CJ service

Folks, I spoke to Jeff at CJ and brought to his attention the angst over calls not being returned. He said the voice mail instructs people to go to the web site and fill out the contact form and chose, "New product, Service, or order tubes/cartons." He said if people still leave a VM it is...

Re: New CJ ART88 Preamp

The CJ Teflon Caps usually take 400-600 playing hours to fully break-in.

You can hear the difference along the way.

I have heard the ART88 in six different environments and in each it represented a huge improvement over previous CJ preamps.

Re: Breaking in the Teflon Caps upgrade.

RJ, this issue may be as simple as a ground loop. Ground loops are the most annoying problem to have. The solution is not always simple. Sometimes having a new 8' - 15' copper ground rod can help but that is expensive. Others can be separate circuits and that costs money. Sometimes one or more of th...

Re: WTB CJ synthesis LM-20 or Sonographe sl-21 speakers

I can get a nice pair of Synthesis LM20X's Speakers. These are the ones using the Dynaudio D28AF Tweeters and are excellent sounding. The Sonograohe LM20's are the same basic speakers but they use the Vifa tweeters and the Crossover isn't as robust as the Synthesis LM20X's. The LM20X's use Polystyre...

Re: New CJ ART88 Preamp

I really like this forum. Great people on it. If you are referring to transformer noise that makes more sense. Being old I didn't read the post correctly. Transformer can physically hum and that would be heat related so this makes sense. Hum or ground loop issues usually are evident as soon as they ...

Re: New CJ ART88 Preamp

CJ equipment is subject to ground loops like any equipment is and it can caused by poor grounding, using too many separate circuits, and a tube that has a shorting problem. It is the most frustrating thing to deal with. I suggest people call Jay Truitt as he is a CJ Dealer like me and a NASA enginee...

Re: New CJ ART88 Preamp

I want to address the clicking of the remote volume control on the ART88 and other CJ preamps. In the ART88 the volume control is on an elevated and carefully damped circuit board. This is a different approach because previous versions of the remote volume control were populated on the main motherbo...
