The hiss is likely a tube. Small chance it is a plate resistor but in almost all cases it is the tube. Sounds strange that a high end tube would do it. I had 4 ET7S2's and they were all dead quiet. CJ equipment is subject to ground loops like any equipment is and it can caused by poor grounding, using too many separate circuits, and a tube that has a shorting problem.
