Re: M8080 Replacement LP260MSE Monoblocks

I have 6C4's in my PV-14L and the first thing I had to do when got the unit (used, not new) from the seller was to replace the tubes. It went well beyond microphonics to clear distortion, but I wonder if these are just very sensitive tubes by nature. Luckily they are inexpensive.

Re: Recent Website Reliability Problems

The hosting site has elevated the issue to their higher tear tech support team as the baseline tech could not find the underlying problem. It of course is the weekend so I'm sure that delays things but hopefully this will get resolved in short order.

Again, apologize about the inconvenience.

Re: Recent Website Reliability Problems

The errors have unfortunately continued. I tried changing some server settings but it has not resolved the problem. I'm working with our web hosting provider so hopefully this can be fixed. In the meantime, if you do encounter this "Internal Server Error", just manually reload the page in ...

Re: Recent Website Reliability Problems

Thank you for the reporting. I got one this morning as well, but it seems to be happening less often. But obviously not "fixed." I'm going to monitor for now and reach out to the hosting company again if it continues. As a reminder, if the error happens, a simple reload of the page seems t...

Re: Audio Research

I was really happy to hear that ARC landed on its feet after the financial debacle the other year. I could have seen it go another way and it would have been sad to see such a great producer of tube gear to have been lost. I'm hoping that they have a long a fruitful future with their new financial b...

Re: Recent Website Reliability Problems

There were some reports of of another error popping up periodically and I had experienced this as well. Made some setting changes with the help of the hosting provider and hopefully this is fixed as well. error screenshot.jpg If you do get this error, you can usually clear it by just reloading the p...

Re: New member

Welcome to CJO, wonderful to have you with us. I've been to France a few times and I've always found it to be such a beautiful place. I even proposed to my wife while there!

Congrats on the Premier 2. That definitely is "vintage". Glad to hear it is going strong after over 4 decades.

Re: Why Did I Wait So Long?!

The MF-2500 with it's 250 watts of SS power output will handle anything. It's a good paring with the PV-15. The PV15 will give the sound that classic CJ sound for sure. And I have to add that cosmetically they looks great together.

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

I know that some legacy military equipment use vacuum tubes but I was under the impression that the vast majority of sales was for consumer use. Obviously I don't know exactly what percentage but I just don't see the Russian military using vast quantities of tubes. I'm sure they have stockpiles for ...

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

Guys, Recently came to live here a Russian who used to work in the Genalex factory. He assured me that the tubes are NOS. The tubes are built not long ago. If the factories are still making them, who do they sell them to as I was under the impression that the sanctions limited the selling of Russia...

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

I'm starting to consider looking into other brands too. I own and love my CJ CAV45 S2 and Cayin el84 tube amps, but I kind of wanted to see if there are any solid state amps out there that I'd like enough to use during the working week and preserve my tubes for more focused listening time. As you c...

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

He was going to spend $2100 on the amp and $1500 on the preamp, so the budget was $3600. But he also said it wasn’t firm. My suggestions have been based on that premise. He seems hellbent on tubes … Ok, thanks for clarify that, I think I may have missed the "total budget" and just went of...

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

This looks really good, but pricey https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650077404-coda-csib-integrated-amplifier-v1/ So maybe we should ask about your budget again,... I thought you were trying to keep this not much above $1500? If your budget is 3 times that, there are definitely a lot more options...

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

admin, I own a Ragnarok 1.5. I moved it to my other location, but it's not that great to me. i'm been running my Cayin el84 tube amp as my workhorse 16 hours a day. so if i can find a ss amp that sounds good for a workhorse, i'd consider it, even if it exceeds my initial budget. problem is, i bet m...

Re: Suggestions on a preamp for CJ 2275SE amp?

If you are looking for a "work horse" that does "everything", solid state, that you can just run 8 hours a day every day and not worry, and with a budget of $1500,.... take a look at: https://www.schiit.com/products/ragnarok-1 You can get the version with a built in DAC if you pl...

Per google translate: Hello everyone, I recently inserted a Conrad Johnson Pv 2 preamp into my vintage chain consisting of Marantz CD 94 MK2, Ar Xa turntable, Finale Denon Poa 1500, Zingali Overtur 2s speakers. Strangely, the sound is a little flat in the mid range and the highs are a little harsh a...
