Re: Center Channel Speaker Stand w/ Adjustable Angle

Welcome to the site, it's nice to have you with us! As for your questions: 1) I didn't use a drill press and just did it free hand after measuring and marking the holes. I admit that with a drill press it would have been easier. 2) One thing that you can do is to glue the small base attachment piece...

Re: amplifiers

Did they change the values of the caps and resistors? Not sure why that would have any effect on the operating temperature as most upgrades use the same values but just use higher end components?

Thank you for the thorough review. As a D/A-2b owner this will come in handy for me when it is time to change the tubes.

Re: DIY Tri-weave Power Cable

Thank you for the kind words. I had them in my system this weekend and finally had the opportunity to put in a few hours of serious listening with the new turntable. So far I really like what I hear. It also looks nice as now I have a number of cables with the "snake" techflex design in the setup.

Very cool. Would love to hear your thoughts when you get it. Interesting I don't see any information about the unit on their website.

DIY Tri-weave Power Cable

I recently bought a new turntable that did not come with a power cord. I figured that as I was making a set of RCA cables, I might as well do a custom power cable as well. I decided to to a "tri-weave" cable. I think it came out rather nice. I found some rather inexpensive but very well made standar...

Re: DIY RCA interconnect cable (w/ instructions)

I bought a new turntable recently and it did not come with a RCA interconnects nor a power cord so I figured I make some myself. Essentially same design and base materials as my earlier RCA cables except I added a ground wire (as it's for a turntable). 20170726_123023.jpg The first picture is with t...

Re: Hum problem with LP125m SE

Ground loop issues can be frustrating. You may want to try turning off some of the circuits in the rest of the house to see if you can isolate some noise contamination. It's a long shot, but you never know and it may be more easy to turn off the circuit to the washing machine then run a new line.

Re: Speaker Wood Conditioner recommendation

Hi RJ, I've heard many people use linseed oil on their furniture. I've tried to use pure oils on furniture in the past but have found the application not always consistent. I think I put too much on some places and it can show as a "shiny spot." This probably is more my lack of application skills vs...

Re: The Formidable Renaissance 15

Thanks for the thorough review. This is really interesting for me as I am a previous martlin logan owner. It's really fascinating to see the developments and slow perfection of such an unusual speaker design. I would love to have the opportunity to audition the 15A and see how it compares to my memo...

Hola. Reading this guy who has one of the best DACs on the market today, wrote this article regarding the noise...its very interesting what he is saying... http://www.lampizator.eu/AC%20FILTER/SILK/FILTER.HTML Happy listening! Interesting read about the AC filter in the article. Makes me want to bu...

Re: Hum problem with LP125m SE

I think what Big Dog RJ is saying is really important. When I built my home theater room I ran 3 separate power lines into the room. Not because I needed the power, but because of the contamination of the line by other equipment or devices. You definitely don't want to share the line with any kind o...

Re: Repair a pre

Could you post some pictures of the front, back, and inside. We can probably help identify it with some pictures. We have a lot of schematics in our database so once we identify the model, you can probably download the schematic to help you troubleshoot any problems.

Re: Hum problem with LP125m SE

If you still hear it without the preamp connected it "shouldn't be" a ground loop. However, "same setup in a new room" makes me think ground loop issues. Get a long extension cord, plug the amp into an outlet on a different circuit of the house and see if it still happens. Maybe try rotating the tub...
