Re: Lampizator Big Seven DAC.

I will pay the bill via PayPal, and you can ship the parts to a courier service that I use from Miami to here, Costa Rica. You will be shipping to Miami, Fl. Our main problem is to be here...and service it a hell kitchen.

Lampizator Big Seven DAC.

Hola Chicos, My dearest friend Roch passed, and I did sell some goods of his sound system, one is this Lampizator Big Seven DAC. The problem is a noisy choke : PHOTO-2024-04-08-12-35-36.jpg PHOTO-2024-04-08-12-37-14.jpg I did try to contact the Lampizator Company with no success and also the new own...

Re: ACT2.2 distortion/pops?

Hola, With much respect, a cable connected reversed mode cannot produce pops and odd noises. Yes, play more hours to make sure who is the culprit on your preamp. Usually odd noises are due to a small signal tube. Let's think that the position of the tubes are like a clock dial face. Tubes 9 o'clock ...

Re: MV-55 output issues

Are you sure the plate fuse is good? The plate fuses are typically large KTKs. Ask Jeff. Probably KTK2s. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT SIZE. I bought an MV52 once and the prior owner had put a fuse 10 times too large in. I discovered it when the amp went red plate and started motorboating. Hola Chico...

Guys,

Recently came to live here a Russian who used to work in the Genalex factory. He assured me that the tubes are NOS. The tubes are built not long ago.

Re: Old vs New Sound

Caryking, Just listen the new goods and your ears will tell how great the sound quality it is. Coherence, detail, harmonic texture, size of the musical instruments and voices, wind, percussion, strings, you name it...all them sound better to and for my ears. The S/N is over -100dB, so much detail co...

Re: Old vs New Sound

Noooo, I'm just saying that the new stuff might not be his liking, due to the fact that he is looking or searching for a richness that was on older tube sound. But this richness is not compared with the new quality and precision sound on CJ goods on these days. The harmonic texture was to my ears, o...

Re: Old vs New Sound

Hola Caryking, The sound is a matter of liking. I would say that what I like not necessary must be your liking and viceversa. The quality signature sound of Conrad Johnson sounds right and it is my liking too. Just search for what your ears like. They are the final judges...period! It does not matte...

Re: Premier 11A B+ Voltages

Hola David, Conrad Johnson does not provide those voltages in their schematics info. You could ask at service@conradjohnson.com those values and the reason why you want them. This is to prevent counterfeit of CJ products. Somewhere In the Orient had done this...and of course the product is cheap wit...

Re: Jim Winey, inventor of Magnepan, passed

Mr Winey sold to me my tonearm. The Unitrack. I was attending to the SCES headed in Chicago. In the Magnepan room, I was intrigued that there were a wooden block with two big nails and a tonearm. You could hammer with the tonearm those nails. They were showing how stiff is the carbon fiber and so li...

Re: Anyone experience of Solen FEP Tin/PTFE caps?

Hola,

Definitely I would replace those caps for better ones. It looks that you know what you are doing, so do it!...you might get lucky. Those new caps are expensive, but coupling caps are very important in the signal path.

Hola, You can measure the value of the resistors top left vs the value of the ones that are odd burned look at the right. The value of those resistors are mirror and same for left channel vs right channel. If you have any value difference, they must be replaced. It looks too that the right channel i...
