Re: Classic Sixty SE Input Tube Heater Mod - Why?

Hola. Why don´t you ask direct to C-J service dept? Factory mods are done many times, using what they have in stock, and it is a normal practice for all brands. The serial number helps to the manufacture to track exactly the components that they use. For series use, the filament voltage is for 12. 6...

Hola Sounds2Good, And please wait for the total break in time. The change that I had in the last hours was very impressive. At the plateau, the sense of 3D changed for good like a marvel puzzle. Everything start to melt, giving a solid stage with the communication that you spect with the musicians a...

Re: PV 12 Phase Inverting?

Hola Bignhot1964. The most convincing statement and answer about the phase is, because it is the shortest way in the path. This means, less distortion and better sound. Phase inverting is not a problem. Besides the 50% of the recordings are done with phase inverting. Philips, Sony, Deutsche Grammoph...

Re: CAV45 - What Speaker Are You Using

Hola jahatl513, The output tubes EL34/6CA7 makes the sound quality to be very mellow. This tube produces a very sweet sound and of course, the quality sound of all CJ products. But having only 45 watts/channel we think that this power is too low, and I assure you that it will drive easy most all spe...

Re: ET-7 follow up.

Hola jahatl513, Yes, I have. To my ears, both preamps are winners. The ET-7 exhibits a little bit more control of the signal...but they are very close. Gee, these preamps are very good. Perhaps ET-7 is like faster. The harmonic texture on both are very good. This is in my system. It is not the best ...

Re: PV 9a Break in period after recaping with Claricap capacitor

Hola Raymond. Just give to the caps more time. And your ears to accustomed to the new sound. The preamp will gain a lot of transparency, and tons of wide and depth stage, The harmonic texture will arise and also less fatigue. Much better dynamics, and great extension at the highs. Listen the new cym...

Re: PV 9a Break in period after recaping with Claricap capacitor

Hola Raymond. I do believe that sometimes you need to break in them at least 400 hours!. These caps are the culprit of the lack in bass. They need the time to "setting in". Claricaps is an English Company, that had dedicated to bring to us, the audio users, a very high quality caps. My guessing is t...

Re: Hum problem with LP125m SE

Hola. Ground loops!. There is a very small potential difference between the ground cables, and this little difference, the 60Hz from the main line is induced. Because of this reason, I use another copperweld bar dedicated to my AC to my dedicated circuit of 30A, to power all my system. Having a dedi...

Re: Help and Embarrassment or Riches to Rags in seconds

The DC at the output terminals should be less than +-30mV. Less than +-10mV is typical. Ideal is +_ 0 mV. I do believe that each channel has a balance DC control variable resistor where you can adjust for minimum +- DC balance. My advice is, contact Conrad Johnson for their guide to do this. It's be...

Hola. What happened was that somehow while the amp was on, and turning some other equipment, a heavy transient was generated. An AC cable could does that. This cost to fried the cone speaker. Hola John, As a musician bass and guitar player too, I do like to understand the difference between a F and aF#. I do like a lot the Martin Logan electrostatic speakers. Re: MF2500 throwing 68 DCvolt out on right channel

Hola. Bambadoo is right! Follow his instructions. 68 DC Volts can fried your speaker coils. Do not plug any speakers to the output terminal. If you want to load the amp, use a 30 Watt resistor, from 4 to 8 ohms. My advice is, you must check all the output transistors from emitter to collector leakag...
