Re: Is the ET5 built better than the ET7 ?
a comment I posted back in 2017: "When I compare the insides of the ET7 to the ET5 I am a bit surprised. ET7 has a lot less big white capacitors and has more electrolytic capacitors than the ET5. Also the tube is now on the main board rather than on a vibration isolated daughter board. Just loo...

Re: PV-5 as headphone amplifier?
... So I wonder: 1. What is the exact output impedance of the PV-5 (as a function of frequency)? 2. What is the maximum power output of the PV-5 into 600 ohm headphones (such as the Beyerdynamic T1)? ... For 1, Realistically, you are not going to get that information from anyone though you can try ...

Re: Analog and Digital or Oil and Water with a PV-10A
... All that said, I can't help but feel that I go through great lengths to keep an analog signal path for the turntable using the PV-10A's excellent MM-only Phono stage. Given the limited flexibility of Outlaw's analog inputs, I run my other audio-only signals (CD, Streamer) through the 10A's avai...

Re: PV10 AL with noise problems
I have e Conrad Johnson PV10AL. The one with three knobs in the front. I have recently changed the tube sockets and tubes because of some squeaking noise problems. And it got way better. But I still have some noise. Its a hissing noise I can hear all the way to listening position when the music sto...

Re: Do all CJ legacy preamps do this?
I wonder if this is due to the presence of DC offset on the outputs of your tuners, and the PV6 not filtering out this DC offset, whereas your previous McIntosh pre probably filtered this out. Excessive DC offset is a common cause of thumps and pops. If you have a multimeter you can easily check for...

Not sure if you are after a printed brochure or if a digital image would do? Anyway if digital is ok, you could try searching through this site. That must be so frustrating. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Anyway congratulations on your new CJ gear.
When you get your new tube, make sure you follow the "Adjusting Output Tube Bias" section of the manual.

Re: new ET-7, the replacement for the ET-5
How much gain does the ET-7 have? The spec for the ET-5 is 25 db, which probably accounts for the relatively shortened tube life before noise. I love my ET-5, btw. Just wish it were not so hard on the tube. At least it is only one tube. If the ET-7 gain spec is lower, say 20 db or so, we can specul...

Can you tell us what tube or tubes it uses? single electro harmonix 6922? or Philips PCC88 maybe? If you are inclined to open up the case, any chance of some pictures of the insides?

Re: Where do you buy your tubes? From Conrad Johnson or ....
I stocked up on a heap of new old stock philips PCC88 from Electols/Halfin in Belgium for my ET5. Same tube that CJ uses for GAT 2 (and GAT in some cases). Very likely suitable for ET3 too. Due to Electols long history supplying tubes (since 1946!) I would not be surprised if they bought them direct...
