Re: PV-7 Muting too long!

Just to add replaced the 3x Electrolytics in my PV10a Including the timer one, c10. and made no difference to a lengthy turn on. Did you change the capacitance? Use less capacitance value. Use the half and check. Same working voltage os course. Happy listening! Reduce the value of the 47uF cap in t...

Re: Old CJ hand

My name is Bill Thalmann My 20 yr stint with CJ started in 1978 (about the time CJ started up) and lasted until 2000, with a brief sabbatical in the early 80's to work ...

Re: CAV50 triode connection

Those jumpers are factory set for ultralinear (connected to the. taps). Just change those jumpers to connect the SG's to the plates and you'll be all ...

Old CJ hand

I was CJ's technical director for the first 20 yrs of their existence and still make my living repairing, restoring and upgrading high end audio electronics, w...

Re: PV1 owner questions

Before you go and tear it all apart, try different tubes in the phono stage. The 12AX7 closest to the phono inputs is the first and most noise sensitive stage. If it's still too noisy with a known quiet tube, you should start looking at the high voltage regulator and its associated caps. The PV1 is ...
