Hello Sir - I know it's been years since this post, but wondering if you still have your dead CJ DV 2b player? I would be interested in buying it from you.
Thanks,
- Tim

Wanted - Dead or dying Conrad Johnson equipment
Hello - I want to buy your dead/dying/non-functional Conrad-Johnson gear. Whether it caught on fire and burned to the ground, or just doesn't sound quite right, or anything in between. I am interested. This includes amps, preamps, EQs, D/As, tube or solid state, or hybrid. PM me and we can discuss a...

This Preamp has sold.
Re: EF-1
The main power fuse upstream of the transformer was blown. I began checking the power supplies - the first regulator after the rectifier/filter is a Darlington pair, and the MJE340 was shorted emitter/collector. With the MJE340 pulled, the downstream path was still shorted to ground. I lifted the si...

Conrad-Johnson EF-1 for sale
I have for sale a C-J EF-1 in excellent shape. It's the black style and cosmetically near-mint. Pictures if you want. This is the perfect mate to your PV series Line Level preamp, for those of you who want to get back to vinyl. This EQ will accommodate most MC and MM cartridges. I've gone through th...
Re: EF-1
No power on the unit. I could probably figure it out once the unit arrives (belongs to a friend), but just like to be ready with a schematic. Unless it's the transformer, should be fixable.
EF-1
I know the EF-1 schematic is not in our database, but anyone out there have one or know where to get one?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Official Schematics and Manuals Thread (Registered Users)
EF-1 Phono EQ Schematic.
I know it's not in the schematic database, and I've looked pretty hard elsewhere - just wondering if anyone has or knows the whereabouts of a EF-1 schematic.
Thanks much!

PV10A with phono stage
Hello - Just finished a pretty comprehensive cleanup/upgrade to a PV10A with phono stage, and putting up for sale. Functions perfectly. Replaced all electrolytics with Mundorf and Wurth German caps. All original C-J PP caps tested and per spec. Controls treated with Deoxit. Replaced cheesy RCA conne...

Re: EV-1 Gain too high
Thanks! Any idea where these modifications might have been made? I am comparing the unit component values to the schematic and not finding any changes - i.e. resistor values, modified circuit traces, etc. Not finding anything. The only thing I notice is that the 150K plate resistors for the 5751 tub...

Re: KNOB Volume for PV12
All -
I am seeing a discrepancy between the PV-12A schematic and my unit. The schematic says that the volume control pot is a 100KOhm pot. The unit has a 50KOhm pot. This will greatly change the input impedance of the preamp. Any advice here?

Re: EV-1 Gain too high
Just confirmed high gain with track 1 of the Analogue Production's 'The Utimate Ananlogue Test LP'. This is a 1KHz Reference level (0Vu) tone.
I measured 108mVrms on the output of the EV-1 (100KOhm load), with a 0.188mVrms input from the Shure V15 III.
So, dB = 20 LOG(Vout/Vin). A 55.19dB gain.

Re: EV-1 Gain too high
Well - the issue certainly appears to be the EV-1 itself. With a lab-grade signal generator (Keysight 33600A) set at 1KHz, 3.5mVrms (the specified output of a Shure V15 III), the output of the EV-1 is 2.02Vrms (across 100KOhm resistor - specified input impedance of my PV-12) as read on my lab-grade ...

EV-1 Gain too high
My new (to me) EV-1 phono section seems really hot (gain, not temp). CJ specifies the gain at 49dB. I believe mine is producing something like 55dB, which is really blasting my PV-12 AUX input. Signal is loud at 7 O'clock, nearly distorting at 8 O'clock. I'm running a Shure V15 III - output spec'd a...

MF-2100 Schematic
Hello All - In desperate need of a schematic for a conrad-johnson MF-2100 solid state power amp. A problem in one of my preamps has damaged the amp. There is 50VDC (the positive power supply rail) on the right speaker terminal and the right "MAX POWER" LED is on all the time. I am capable ...

Re: PV-10A w/phono stage for sale
Oh yeah - asking $1217 with the Gold Lion tubes, $1017 with the Yugoslavian tubes that were in the preamp when I got it. The old tubes sounded great. As I said above, not sure the new tubes have enough hours on them to make a fair comparison.

Re: PV-12PH phono section
So to get back on track here, I'm looking for a tube phono section. Or maybe the downstream line section of the PV-12 would warm things back up?

Re: PV-12PH phono section
Don't understand why CJ would develop such nice preamps without phono sections, and then turn around and sell TEA1s/2s as separate units... Or maybe I do$$$. Frankly it's the real estate that bugs me most. 3 more inches of rack space + the physical/mechanical isolation that folks are going on about....
