Re: ET7 + TEA2MAX vs AR SP20

Yeah I am loving my ET7S2. The best and cheapest upgrade around is swapping the 7dj8 for a Matsushita. Best $30 I have ever spent. Takes the ET7s2 to another level. BTW RJ :- even my crappy old records that I have had from the 70/80s still sound much better than any of the new “audiophile” pressings...

Re: Original GAT vs new ET7?

I can thoroughly recommend a Classic 120se and if your after a bit more of a musical old school sound or tone, drop in some KT88 like I have! :D

Re: 7DJ8 adventures

I really liked the Philips too. This tube only cost me $25 so I thought it would be fun to try. It took about 20hrs to settle in. Right now I guess it just offers “more” of everything you get from the Philips. It’s quieter, smoother, more dynamic and musical. Everything sounds more 3D if that’s even...

7DJ8 adventures

Hi Just wanted to know if any GAT2 or ET7S2 owners have experimented with changing 7DJ8 tubes? I tried a Matsushita / National PC88. They’re made in Japan and a relatively affordable. The ET7s2 was already sounding phenomenal, this has taken it to a whole other level. Just thought I’d reach out. Any...

Re: NEW Conrad Johnson ART27A Triode Tube Amp

I was thinking of upgrading to one. I bought a matched octet of KT88 and put them into my Classic 120SE just to see if I would like the 88 flavour. Wow! I really wasn’t expecting too much. Everything is smoother more musical and svelte. Just a touch of that sweet, romantic tone which I like. I much ...

Re: The all new ET7-2 Pre-amp is here

I had the ET3SE which I greatly enjoyed. The ET7s2 is on a completely different level. I only listen to vinyl and the ET7s2 just doesn’t sound electronic if that makes sense. It’s very analog. I hate using the overused term “organic “! Jeff really hit this one out of the park!!! It’s the best CJ pre...

Many thanks for sharing your experience on ET7S2. Quick question - do you recall which brand of the 7DJ8(E88CC) in yours?
It’s a Phillips PCC88

Re: Comparison of ET7 Series 1 & 2 and Act 2 Series 2

I have had a few CJ preamps over the years. I have also heard an ACT2. I had the Ct5 and found it a bit dark and hard sounding. I then moved on to the ET5 which I enjoyed much more, but still felt it was a bit thin and was a bit dry sounding. I now have the ET7S2 and I couldn’t be happier. It’s a re...

Re: The all new ET7-2 Pre-amp is here

Well those Teflon caps have finally started to settle down.

This is a wonderful preamp. I am enjoying it way more than I ever did with the ET5 and CT5 before that.

Hate using the word “organic” this pre just sounds very analog.

I don’t EVER want to hear a GAT!!!

Re: The all new ET7-2 Pre-amp is here

Yes I used to play bass guitar in my past life.

Still in the heady journey of Teflon break in. So far it’s still extremely enjoyable to listen too.

Enjoying much more than my previous ET5.

This sounds more analog and less mechanical.

Re: The all new ET7-2 Pre-amp is here

Long-term lurker first time poster.

Just upgraded to the ET7 s2. Really impressed. So far much more enjoyable than my previous CT5 and ET5.

I think CJ have hit a major home run with this preamp.
