Re: Successful PV7 - home repair

Nice job! As our equipment ages, they sometimes need a little loving care to get them back to their former glory.

Re: MV100 blowing output tubes

Hi. I know that this is an older post, but I am new to the forum, and happen to have a factor service manual, as well as an mv100 that is a eat's EL 34s for breakfast!! If you are still looking for the service manual, I will scan and send it to you. If you have the time to scan it and send it to me...

For the PV8 premp its only a schematic. Do you have a service manual?
Whatever we have is in the database.

Re: Hello from Wisconsin

Ah, I see. I agree with you, if the speakers are going to be right up against the wall, planar speakers may not be the best choice. There can be some workarounds as acoustic dampening right behind the speaker. You may want to show the wife some pictures, many of the magnepan models do have an "older...

Re: Hello from Wisconsin

Hi C1ear, Welcome to the site. Great to have you with us. Congrats on the mv100 and premier 3, very nice. Is there a reason why you are going for a DIY speaker? Not to say that is bad,... but high-end speaker design is pretty hard. I don't think some cheap woofers off of parts express is the way to ...

Wow,... that entire setup looks amazing. The finish on the TAD's look beautiful. I like the "clean" look of the rack. Very nice, congrats.

Hi William,
Welcome to the site. Great to have you with us. Wonderful set of equipment. I absolutely love the speaker design of Sonus Faber (as well as their sound). I think make the most beautiful speakers in the world (with a price to match!).

Re: My System upgrades.

Very nice. The Michelle Gyro is fun to look at while playing with the balance weights hanging down from the platter. What Veneer style do you have on the Avanti speakers, their options and quality look amazing?

Re: ELP Laser Turntable Review

Part 2 of 2 Before we even start with comments on the music, I should mention that this player has a calibration vinyl disk. This is to help align the lasers and to prevent skipping. The manual says this should be done every week. Recently I have gone a few weeks without calibration to see if any p...

ELP Laser Turntable Review

ELP LT-100STD Laser Turntable with phono level output Review Part 1 of 2 Occasionally I will browse the websites of high end audio stores in the area. I don’t do this too frequently (which probably saves me a lot of money), but once every few months I see what new equipment they may have listed. I ...

Re: Difference between PF-1 and PF-2

Totally get that budget is a restriction. I was implying that a high end transformer could give better sound. I kind of took it that with the budget limitations the transformer was maybe not "high end gear."

Re: Difference between PF-1 and PF-2

Unfortunately it appears that we don't have the PF-1 or the PF-2 schematics in our database. If you do end up hunting these down, please email them to me and I can add them to our repository. In the meantime you can get a MC to MM transformer which should alleviate the problem. Something like this: ...

Re: Hello from England

Hi Cosmo,
Welcome to CJO. Sounds like you have a great start to an audiophile system. I think most of us slowly upgrade our components so there is nothing wrong with starting with one high end unit. And a PF-1 is certainly a wonderful start. Congrats.
