Nice write up. You might give some NOS Amperex a try. Not only do NOS sound great, they last a lot longer than current production tubes.

Hey Wildcat - did you complete your analysis of the 11 to 11A upgrade and/or complete the job? Did the simple addition of a .1uf cap to the diode do the trick? Please tell us as I want to do the same upgrade if it works. Thanks, Kurt

Hi- great pics and those caps look really cool. I have a few questions: what were the values of the old caps, what are the values of the new caps and why did you only upgrade those four specific caps?

I just got a PV8 and I believe NOS tubes are the only way to go. Go to Brent Jessee at auidiotubes.com and get NOS GE tubes. The sound quality will improve so much, you’ll be amazed. Kurt

Hi Everyone, I just got my first piece of Conrad-Johnson gear: a PV8 and (once I put in some good NOS tubes) I absolutely love it. I pretty much only listen to vinyl, and I’m currently running a Nagaoka MP-200. Sounds great but I’m wondering if there are any particular MM carts that go especially we...
