Re: Conrad Johnson MF2500-Won’t Shut Off
OK that would explain it then. The 2500A has a delay. That’s got to be the culprit. You guys solved a cold case!

Re: PV-6 and SA-40 Sonographe Amp
The SA 400 is underrated in my opinion. You could do a lot worse for a lot more.
I have no experience with the PV-6.

Re: Conrad Johnson MF2500-Won’t Shut Off
I had the same problem with my MF2500A so I used the tried and true unplugging method. Then I don’t know what happened but the switch began to work again. It’s still working 5 years later (knock on wood). Sorry I’m not being helpful, I just wanted to relay my own experience.

Re: PV-12 phono - MC?
I’m using a medium output Benz-micro Glider SM (.9 mV) with 1000 ohm resistors paralleled using Y-connector plug-jacks on my PV11. It’s too loud for me when the volume is past 12:00. No noise, either.

Re: New Ownership for Conrad-Johnson
The changing of the guard at c-j was inevitable, but this may be the best of the recent ownership changes that have been happening lately in hi-end audio. Jeff did the C-1 upgrade on my pv11, along with a new volume control, tubes, and who knows what else. I can truly say my pre-amp is now not only ...

Re: Conrad Johnson PV8-Preamp
That pre-amp can be up-graded to a real high-end unit by c-j. I had it done to my PV11. Not cheap, but for what you wind up with it's definitely worth it.

Same here, although I usually leave the CD on. But no matter what, the amp is the last on, first off. I'm old, and I remember the days of turn-on transients.aldinohiend wrote:Ignition sequence:

Re: Favorite cable company?
I've been getting good results with DH Labs Sonic Silver series, both the Q10 speaker cable and the Air Matrix IC's. These wires are also reasonably priced, I feel, however they are getting more expensive.

Re: "Howdy" from Tennessee
We broke ground last week! Looks like I'll be able to set up my stereo by sometime in late May or early June. I hope the cold temperatures in the garage over the winter didn't mess anything up.

Re: Do you like to watch 3D movies?
I loved Avatar and Hugo as well as some of the other offerings at the theatre. But I've only seen demos of 3D for HT at stores. However, that's the way the technology is going, so my next HT purchase (Oppo BDP 103) will be 3D capable. When I get my next TV (probably a 70 inch Sharp) it will be a 3D ...

Re: Conrad Johnson PV11 Preamp
I also have a PV11. It is my third pre. I went from a receiver based system to separates in '92. My first pre was a top-of-the-line Rotel with phono and remote volume control. I ran this with both a Rotel amp and a c-j MV52, into Alon I speakers with Alon's bi-wired speaker cables. Front end was a R...

Re: Ye Olde Sonographe 250
Last year I purchased an SA400 to drive my rebuilt MGII's. I only had a couple of months to use it because we moved. It is packed away while we build a new home for our retirement. It was the best sounding amp I had heard in my system. Other amps I had were by Threshold, Forte, Rotel, VSP Labs and c...

My last system before we moved into a rental house while we build a retirement home.
I can't wait to listen to something on it again!

c-j fan here. Currently own PV11, MV52 and Sonographe SA400.
None of them in use right now, as I am in process of building a retirement house.
Looking forward to exploring this forum.
